This talk was presented during our summer CMS Week collaboration meeting. It is titled, “HF and HEP17 Phase Settings in 2017”. This is based on my work timing-in the CMS hadron calorimeter (HCAL) during the 2017 upgrade at the start of that year. The hardware was upgraded on the HCAL hadron forward (HF) subdetector and on sector 17 of the positive side of the Hadron Endcap (HE).

This is the pre-approval talk I gave on behalf of my analysis team presented to the CMS EXO Physics Analysis Group. It is titled, “EXO-17-017 pre-approval: Search for a non-resonant excess in the high-mass diphoton channel at 13 TeV”. As the Analysis Contact, I helped lead our analysis to a successful pre-approval after 2 years of research. This allowed our analysis to proceed into internal review, where it was scrutinized before being approved for publication.

This talk was given on the result of my dissertation research titled, “Search for signatures of large extra dimensions in high-mass diphoton events using proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV with CMS”. The APS April Meeting is an annual national conference in the field. More info can be found at http://meetings.aps.org/Meeting/APR18/Session/C09.5.
